The XRD pattern (Figure 3) shows peaks corresponding to following three major phases, the tetragonal YSZ phase, the fcc phase of the Ni-base superalloy and a- alumina phase. There is no indication of the formation of significant amounts of monoclinic phase. These results correspond to the results of Mitamura et al. who did not find a reaction between 3YSZ and NaCl + KCI in the temperature range between 850 and 1050°C [ 171.
